How do I edit a Word or Excel document online?

In Documents, tap the file then Edit file: it opens in the built-in online editor (ONLYOFFICE), in your browser or the app. Changes are saved to the club’s Documents space; tap Close when you are done.

  1. Open Documents and the folder containing the file.
  2. Tap the file.
  3. Under Actions, tap Edit file.

The editor opens full screen, in the app’s language, with your name as the author of the changes.

Edit file appears for word-processing files (.docx, .doc, .odt, .rtf, .txt…), spreadsheets (.xlsx, .xls, .ods, .csv…) and presentations (.pptx, .ppt, .odp…).

Only club and document managers can edit a file. Other members with access to the folder see Open file instead: the document opens read-only.

Several people can open the same document at the same time: the editor shows everyone’s changes. It is handy for writing meeting minutes together or keeping a shared duty rota.

The club’s file is updated once everyone has left the editor. Wait a few seconds after closing before downloading it.

  • Copy link copies the document’s link, to share in a chat with members who have access to the folder.
  • Close returns to the document’s folder.

Club managers and File Managers can create a document directly in a folder: Add > “Word (.docx)”, “Excel (.xlsx)” or “Powerpoint (.pptx)”, then the name without the extension and Create the file. See How do I share documents with the club?
