# How do I create my CaniClub Connect account?

> Create your CaniClub Connect account with your email address and a password, then join a club, register your own or complete your profile.

To create your account, open the menu, choose **Create account**, fill in your email address, password, first name and last name, then tap **Save**. If you already have a Canicompet account, there is no need to create a new one: log in with the same credentials.

## Create the account

1. Open the side menu and choose **Create account** (or the **Sign up** link on the login screen).
2. Under **Authentification**, enter your **Email**, your **Password** and **Password (re-type)**. Both passwords must match.
3. Under **Personnal information**, enter your **First name** and **Last name**. **Gender**, **Birthday** and **Phone number** are optional.
4. Optional: under **Your avatar and photo**, add an **Avatar** (shown in discussions) and a **Photo** (shown in the club's member directory) with **Take photo**.
5. Optional: fill in your **Address**, **Postal code**, **City** and **Country**.
6. Tap **Save** in the action bar.

## What if an account already uses this email?

If one or more accounts already use your email address, the app shows **Existing account** and offers:

- **Password lost** to recover access to the existing account (recommended: you keep your licences and dogs);
- **Create the account** to create a new account anyway, which will not include the old account's data.

When several accounts share the same email address, the login screen shows **Multiple accounts found. Please choose one:** after you enter your password.

## What happens next?

The **Account created** screen offers three actions:

- **Join a club/company**: search for your club and fill in its membership form (see [How do I join a club and pay my membership fee?](/en/docs/members/join-and-pay/)).
- **Register my club/company**: if you run a club, register it (see [How do I register my club on CaniClub Connect?](/en/docs/getting-started/create-your-club/)).
- **Complete my profile**: add your dogs, licences and medical certificates.

## Logging in

On the login screen, enter your **Email** and **Password**, then tap **Log in**. If you have forgotten your password, use **Forgot Password ?**.

If you have enabled **Two-factor authentication** from **My profile**, the app then asks for the 6-digit **Verification code** from your authenticator app; you can type one of your recovery codes in the same field if you have lost your phone.
