# How do I moderate the club's discussions?

> Chat managers can rename, pin, open to the whole club, change participants or delete discussions, and delete any message.

The club's managers and the people with the **Chat Manager** role can delete any message, and edit or delete any discussion. A discussion's creator can also edit or delete it. Other members, creators included, can only delete their own messages.

## Appoint chat managers

In **Manage the club** > **Setup** > **User rights**, add the people concerned under **Chat managers**, then tap **Save**. See [How do I assign roles and rights in my club?](/en/docs/getting-started/roles-and-rights/).

## Delete a message

1. Open the discussion.
2. Tap the message's "…" menu.
3. Choose **Delete** and confirm with **Yes**.

The message is replaced by **Comment deleted** for all participants.

## Edit a discussion

1. Open the discussion and tap its title (or the settings icon).
2. Change the **Title**, and switch **Pin the discussion** and **Visible to all club members** on or off.
3. If the discussion is not visible to everyone, manage the list of **Chat Members**: add or remove participants.
4. Tap **Save**.

A pinned discussion stays at the top of every participant's list: ideal for the club's standing information (rules, schedules, contacts).

## Delete a discussion

Open the discussion's settings, tap **Delete** in the action bar and confirm. The discussion disappears for all participants.

## Good practice

- Create a pinned "Club information" discussion visible to all members.
- Use each event's discussion (**Discuss** button) for car sharing and instructions, rather than a general discussion.
- For a small group (committee, coaches), create a discussion that is not visible to everyone and choose its members.
