# How do I start the club's bookkeeping?

In **Manage the club** > **Accounting** > **Others exercices**, tap **Add**, enter the **Start** and **End** of the financial year and tap **Save**. You can then enter the club's revenue and expenses in the **Movements** tab.

## Who can access the bookkeeping?

The **Accounting** section of **Manage the club** is reserved for club managers and people with the **Accounting Manager** right, who can view and add financial movements. See [roles and rights](/en/docs/getting-started/roles-and-rights/).

## Create a financial year

1. Open the menu, then **My club** > **Home**, and tap **Manage the club**.
2. In the **Accounting** section, tap **Others exercices**.
3. Tap **Add**.
4. In the **Configuration** tab, choose the **Start** date and the **End** date (for example 1 September to 31 August to match the sports season).
5. Tap **Save**.

The financial year opens on the **Movements** tab. As long as no financial year exists, the **Exercices** page reminds you to add one before entering movements.

## The previous year's balance

At the bottom of the **Movements** tab, the **Previous exercice** card shows the opening balance. You do not enter it: the app adds up all revenue and subtracts all expenses recorded before the start date. It is updated as soon as an earlier movement is added or changed.

> **TIP**
To start from the club's actual cash position, also create the previous financial year and enter a revenue movement in it for the amount of your bank balance, for example "Balance at 31/08". That amount becomes the new year's opening balance.

At the top of the **Movements** tab, the app shows the date of the latest movement and the cash balance on that date.

## Switch between financial years

- **Current exercice** (in **Manage the club** > **Accounting**) opens the financial year that contains today's date.
- **Others exercices** lists all the club's financial years, newest first.
- The **Manage the club** dashboard shows the current year's **Cash**, with its **Revenues** and **Expenses**; tap it to open the financial year.

To change a financial year's dates, open its **Configuration** tab, change **Start** or **End** and tap **Save**.
