In **Manage the club** > **Accounting**, open **Categories**, **Customers** or **Providers**, tap **Add**, enter the **Name** and tap **Save**. You can also create them on the fly with the "+" button while entering a movement.

## What are they for?

Every [movement](/en/docs/accounting/movements/) must have:

- a **Category**, which sorts money coming in and going out ("Licences", "Equipment", "Competitions"…): it shapes the [balance sheet](/en/docs/accounting/exports/);
- a **Customer** for revenue or a **Provider** for an expense: the person or organisation the club deals with.

Plan your categories from the start: about ten is usually enough for a readable balance sheet.

## Create or rename a category

1. In **Manage the club** > **Accounting**, tap **Categories**.
2. Tap **Add**, or an existing category to rename it.
3. Enter the **Name** and tap **Save**.

Providers work the same way from **Providers**. If you create a name that already exists, the app reuses the existing item instead of creating a duplicate.

## Create a customer, with their address

1. In **Manage the club** > **Accounting**, tap **Customers**, then **Add**.
2. Enter the **Name**.
3. Optional: fill in the **Address**, **Postal code** and **City**. They are required on tax receipts: fill them in for every donor.
4. Tap **Save**.

## Items created automatically

Automatic movements create their own items the first time they are needed: the "Memberships" customer and category for memberships, the "Shop" customer and category for the shop, the "Canicompet" provider and category for online payment fees. You can rename them.

## Delete

Open the item, tap **Delete** and confirm.

Deletion is refused ("Unable to delete") while a category, customer or provider is linked to movements. In that case, rename it instead, or first change the category or party of the movements concerned.
